Description
The Continental Competition tubular offers the best compromise between comfort, performance and puncture protection. It is composed of a BlackChili tread compound, which improves rolling resistance by 26% and increases grip by 30% compared to activated silica compounds.
In addition, the Competition features Vectran puncture protection, a synthetic fibre woven from Vectra polymer and reworked into a multi-fibre network. Like spider silk, the Vectran fibre is highly tear-resistant and very light: exactly what is needed as a puncture protection. The Vectran reinforcement is light, flexible and even more protective against cuts than a nylon puncture protection.
